Membership Benefits and Application
The San Fernando Valley Employer Advisory Council [SFV EAC] is a member of the California Employer Advisory Council [CEAC]. By joining your local Employer Advisory Council [EAC], you automatically become a member of the CEAC. SFV EAC 2015 membership runs from January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2015. Membership is based on a calendar year. Any membership paid after October 1 of the current year, will include membership for the following year.
Management Hot Line
One of the many benefits of the SFV EAC membership is use of the “Management Hotline”. The “Hotline” receives an average of 100 contacts a month, and is answered by Bruce Matlock, an attorney with more than 30 years experience in Human Resources and employment law. Bruce has been the CEAC “Hotline” Consultant for over 5 years. The “Hotline” allows members to ask questions that can be quickly answered by phone or e-mail. Questions are normally answered within 24 hours.
A brief description of Bruce’s experience includes representation and consultation to a wide variety of employers throughout California. He also is the Legislative Chair for the Employer Advisory Council and administers the “Hotline” for EAC members. Before entering private practice, Bruce was Director of Labor Relations for Price Clubs and VP of HR for the administrative and reservation offices of Princess Cruises. Bruce is also an adjunct professor at the University of Redlands School of Business where he teaches Human Resource Management and Business Law.

Members receive a discount for SFV EAC seminars on topics such as labor law, human resources, and workers’ compensation to name a few.
SFV EAC $50 Annual Membership Fee includes:
No cost to members if the event is held at the EDD office.
A nominal fee may be charged for seminars held at a different location.

Compliance Poster Company
CEAC has partnered with the Compliance Poster Company to provide EAC members with a 20% discount on all compliance posters including the new USERRA poster required by the Veteran’s Benefits Improvement Act of 2004.
